Ferrum Lacrosse vs. CNU (2)

Well.. they lost, but it was a good game. The guys were not too happy, but they definitely have the skill to beat CNU. They'll get them next season. It was funny because their coach tried to recruit my boyfriend to play for them... my boyfriend said no of course. They play their last game on Saturday in Pittsburg, PA. I am very excited for it. I will post some pictures soon!

Ferrum Lacrosse vs. CNU

So I drove to Ferrum College on last Thursday and am staying until Monday. My boyfriend attends Ferrum College and is on the lacrosse team there. I have really enjoyed spending the weekend here and I love watching him play lacrosse. They are going to play CNU today (I'm about to head up to the field). This should be an interesting game because all the CNU guys were talking badly about Ferrum Lacrosse and their coach. Wonderful. We are going to kick some butt today :] I'll give you and update after the game.

Apartment Decor

My best friends and I all signed our leases for our apartment for next year a few months ago and I am so excited! I have already been planning what my bedroom is going to look like and how I am going to decorate it, and we can paint! Does anyone have any suggestions on decor? I'm open to creative new ideas :]

Below are things I was planning on (some I already bought) getting for my room. It is fashion-y themed!
(These I bought are a set of 3, I found the pictures of them on the website,  but they don't have the third one anymore. The third one was London. I was thinking about putting these on the wall above my bed. They are on canvas.)

(Bed set, the color is a little lighter in person and matches tones in the Paris girls dress on the wall decoration above. I haven't bought it yet, I've been waiting to see if the price goes down.)

Tanning Trouble

So I heard people in class like to read about personal experiences. I've got one for ya. First, before I start... don't judge. Alright so a couple weeks ago I went tanning in a tanning salon. I know, I know it's "so bad" and "blah blah blah" I know, but the allure of beautifully bronzed skin is just too appealing*. So I went to this tanning salon that will remain unnamed, and went in for my first session. The whole experience seemed really great. The location was great, the people seemed nice, the salon was beautiful. It seemed like it would be great. Also, you payed by session not by minute at this place, so they recommended the amount of time you would go in for, which I thought was nice. Well, after I went home from my first session I noticed my chest was very very red. I just thought it must be because it was my first time going this season. So I went back a week later after the burn was gone, went in for less time, and when I got home again... later that night, I was bright red from the neck down on the front and back on my body with the exception of two white stripes that ran down each of my sides, needless to say I was not amused. I have experience with tanning, I have gone before, and I have never ever had this problem. Well, a long story short, I called the salon and they hung up on me... so I e-mailed corporate. I was sure I would never ever go back there again. Today, I recieved a call from the assistant manager of the salon who was incredibly sympathetic and apologetic. I won't go into the rest of the details, but I did get two free tanning sessions out of this whole mess. I hope next time I don't get fried.

*I only go tanning about once a week and only for a couple weeks in the Spring to get a base tan. I usually go to Mexico, on a mission trip, for spring break, however, I am not in high school anymore and I can't miss a week of class to go so my Dad and sister are going and are going to come back beautifully tanned and I can assure you I will not look like a sheet of paper standing next to them. No sir. I know tanning is bad for you but just don't go everyday, all the time and I think you'll be ok. Once and awhile I think is fine.

Hit or Miss? Cowboy Boots with Dresses

I LOVE cowboy boots and I think they have the potential to look really cute with dresses, but this look has to be done right. Above, I featured two pictures, a hit and a miss. Although I personally like Hillary Duff (left) more than Taylor Swift (right) I have to agree that Taylor wears this look right. Hillary's dress is just too short, and the style does not really "match" the boots. Taylor, on the other hand, wears her flirty spring/summer dress with boots that "match" the dress. Sorry Hillary, this is a miss. Taylor takes this one.

Generally when wearing boots with a dress you want to choose a dress that is flowy and casual. Your dress should hit right above the knee (don't go to short like Hillary) and you should still be able to see skin between the top of the boot and your knee, I think Hillary's boots are just a little too tall for her.

Don't be a Jolly Jean Giant!

Jean jackets for spring are super cute, however, some people get a little too "jeany." Some people can pull off the " blue jean on blue jean" look (jean jacket with jeans), but many people should make it a general rule to not wear a blue jean jacket with blue jeans. Here are some very common do's and dont's of proper jean jacket etiquette:

DO...
1. ... invest in a really great jean jacket.
2. ... try out some cropped styles for warmer weather.
3. ... experment with different washes and styles.
4. ... wear your blue denim jacket with white jeans* or khaki colored pants. You could even wear it with a flirty dress or a cute pair of shorts!
5. ... roll up the sleeves of your jacket if you want to.
*white pants should only be worn in the appropriate season.

DON'T...
1. . ... wear different color jean items.
2. ... overly adorn your jean jacket i.e. bedazzle the entire back.
3. ... get too jean crazy (general rule).
